UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME
The United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) serves as the world’s foremost authority on environmental issues, championing global efforts to address ecological challenges and promote sustainable development. For over five decades, UNEP has pursued its mission to inspire, inform, and empower nations and individuals to improve their quality of life with sustainable use of resources. From restoring the ozone layer to safeguarding marine ecosystems and promoting a green, inclusive economy, UNEP works with governments, civil society, the private sector, and UN entities to tackle humanity’s most pressing environmental challenges. Leveraging advanced science, coordination, and advocacy, UNEP aids its 193 Member States in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and fostering a harmonious relationship with nature.
